Kavak, Mexico’s first unicorn, that helps people acquire their own car, has started operations in the UAE and Oman. The company founded, by Carlos Garcia Ottati, Loreanne Garcia Ottati and Roger Laughlin, merged with local company Carzaty, and will invest USD $130M to establish the largest used car sales platform in the Persian Gulf.
Kavak has invested in building a 15,000 square meter reconditioning center in Dubai, which will handle servicing, refurbishment and warranty repairs. When it starts operations, the facility will employ 150 mechanics and handle 1,300 vehicles monthly.
Additionally, the company will open a 17,000-square-meter customer service center in Dubai's Festival Plaza, with a redefined retail experience and a one-stop shop for the entire buying and selling process. Their next milestone in the region is entering Saudi Arabia, where they plan to build an operational and customer center in Riyadh.
