Mono provides businesses with a fully-functional business bank account in just a few minutes. These accounts allow interbank transfers, as well as payments with physical and virtual cards. Mono helps startups receive international transfers, so they can easily access capital from funding rounds. The company emerged from its founder’s frustrations while opening corporate bank accounts with traditional Latin American banks.
Mono was founded by Salomón Zarruk Valencia, Sebastian Ortiz Vásquez , Juan Camilo Poveda and Jose Tomas Lobo while attending Y Combinator earlier this year in January. Mono currently serves more than 600 startups and entrepreneurs in Colombia.
Their latest funding round was led by Tiger Global Management, with the participation of Soma Capital and Y Combinator. Other angel investors who participated in this round were Tom Blomfield founder of Monzo Bank and Jamie Devlin from Revolut.
