Unergy is a marketplace that connects companies needing funding for solar energy installations with multiple investors, who invest amounts as low as USD $1K in projects that generate clean energy. The energy generated by each project is backed by Unergy’s token called uWatt.
The company, founded in 2020 by Eduardo Ospina, Paola Santiago and Nicolás Villegas, has already financed 15 energy projects in Colombia and recently raised USD $1.3M from Flori Ventures and Alexandre Blatter in order to expand into Brazil.
The startup’s goal is to promote the financing of more than 100 renewable energy projects, with a total value of US $20M, by the end of 2022.
